Madagasgar palms are a fantastic and mystical addition to any garden.

It is a plant that on the South Coast Nsw and Sydney looses its leaves during the coldest months (deciduous around Aug-oct) which helps allow the plant to “clean” older leaves and re-grow new beautiful lime green palm looking leaves all over it for the warmer months. Pachypodium will keep leaves all year if planted in a protected corner from our southern cold August winds.

The growth rate and habit of Pachypodiums is similar to that of a Frangipani(Plumeria) during one season if fed, they can grow around 20cm of new trunk.Even the flowers are similar (And spectacular!)  Typically, Madagasgar palms will split into multiple heads and trunks when they flower or when cut off.

Madagasgar palms are a usefull landscaping plant requiring little or No water even in summer. Great when used as a Specimen tree (large trees are old and costly!
