Monadenium magnificum

This is an exemplar widely appreciated not only for its caudiciform appearance, but also for the peculiar flowers that bloom at the apex of red stems adorning the plant with their extravagant shapes and their extremely showy red-greenish notes, so beautiful as to give the succulent the epithet “magnificum”. The caudex takes on an asymmetric appearance growing up to about 8 cm in diameter, and then develops into a woody and widely branched stem from which, during the vegetative season, large and flat leaves will grow, strongly veined and jagged along the margins. The foliar epidermis results of a soft green along the upper surface, which contrasts pleasantly with the intense red of the lower surface for an overall extremely ornamental appearance, perfect to give a touch of elegance to your locations!
